Can I go to the White House at anytime? Can I meet President Obama? Ask a question in our live chat!

No. The U.S. has reopened its embassy in Havana but closed its mission in Washington. I don’t have a visa.

I saw a bunch of posts on Facebook and Twitter saying the U.S. had closed. What’s happening? I thought it was shut down.

Because the U.S. has officially declared it has terminated its policy of trying to prevent Cuban Americans from being able to travel to Cuba. It still hasn’t even officially closed its embassy in Cuba, so it’s true that it closed its embassy in Washington.

Where’s the embassy in Havana now?

It’s in the Ritz Carlton Hotel. I’m going to ask them to call me soon. I’ll be in New York, so I’m heading up there to be put up, whether it’s in the suite next to my office or on one of the beautiful tennis courts that I don’t think I’ll be able to use. Or whether it’s at my mom’s place.

I wanted to get in touch with the White House and say, “Hey, how’s it going?” This is after I spoke with CNN, Fox News, The New York Times, The Washington Post, CBS, CNN, ABC, NBC, MSNBC. None of them had the address I was looking for.

I thought maybe they don’t have my email address, but what about you? What do you think about the administration opening and closing the embassies? What’s their point in doing it?

I think their point is, let’s see if we can really get our affairs in order, and as of today, this has been taken care of, so why don’t we just move on?
