A second suspect has been charged in the shooting death of a pair of men in downtown Toronto last week.
Police said Ryan Guilmette, 19, has been charged with second-degree murder and accessory after the fact in the Aug. 1 shooting death of Derek Waddell and Harvey Gidwani, both 35.
The shooting happened near Victoria Park and Lakeshore Blvd. around 10:25 p.m. on Thursday night. Police said officers responded to a 911 call about shots fired and found the men with gunshot wounds.
Gidwani was pronounced dead on the scene, while Waddell died in hospital the next day.
Gladwin Teo, 20, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the killings. Teo was arrested and charged in connection with the incident late Friday.
Waddell and Gidwani were both from Scarborough, but were both out visiting friends at the time of the incident.
Police said they were only asked to come to a medical call and they did not know why the men were in the area.
